The 12 inch 52100 blade boasts a narrow fuller most of its length, and is a full 2 inches wide at the heel

The edge is .030 inches thick, apple-seeded into an acute cutting edge. This provides superior toughness for heavy chopping without compromising the cutting performance

The flat stonewashed finish is matched by the heat treated guard and fittings, including the 4140 chromoly steel glass-breaker pommel (or skull-crusher pommel depending on the situation)

The bayonet style ringed guard provides an ideal spot for a lanyard on such a large blade, giving better safety and assurance for heavy chopping, and making the blade harder to take from you in very dire circumstances.

The spine of the blade runs in conjunction with the fuller, reducing the weight and terminating with a subtle but detailed peak on the point

The grip is my standard Bovite (stabilized stacked leather), maintaining a sure grip without compromising toughness, weather resistance, or the classic US military look

The blade shape is heavily inspired by the venerable bowie knives produced in 1830s Philadelphia by Bladesmith Henry Schivley

My favorite American made bowie knives, they often had the distinctive parallel edge and spine, culminating in a deeply bellied point

They were among the best defensive knives being made around that period, and proved to be brutally reliable combat equipment. The first standardized American knife bayonets used the Schively designs as a base for what was needed in the harshest of survival or combat conditions

This knife seeks to pay homage to that legacy with a intense modern touch
