Mosaic Nakiri

This lightweight blade maximizes elegance and performance in cutting vegetables

The nakiri is the vegetable specialist blade of Japan, the tall largely rectangular blade lending itself to long cuts needing to terminate positively against the cutting board

This blade holds a deeply detailed lotus mosaic pattern in the center of the bar, flanked with monosteel edge and spine bars to black out the frame so the pattern can shine

This knife is no slouch for cutting ability. 7.25 inches long with a height of 2.25 inches, it boasts my personal favorite geometry; The C grind. This unique cross section consists of a very tall shallow fuller on one side, and a ricasso height convex bevel ending in a near zero edge on the other. The hollow bevel flanked with the radius on the opposing side minimize drag and encourage food release, while nicely lightening this very bold profile

The handle is short, encouraging a pinch grip that best suits the nakiri, and is composed of several materials. Elforyn supertusk, black and red G10, and black linen micarta

The handle similarly has an asymmetrical shape, the flats on the left aiding edge alignment while the right gentle radius fills the palm comfortably
